One of the clearest examples of the movement toward sustainability is found within the food industry. From agriculture to retail sales, the way in which we grow, process and distribute food is being transformed. Each time we enter a grocery store, or dine at a restaurant that features farm to table fare, we experience this transformation.
The SMSBF recognizes the importance of this movement. Over the years, SMSBF has held a number of events featuring local, triple bottom line –people, planet and profit – businesses that are leading the sustainable food industry. We are continuing this tradition by introducing a new concentration to our mission: Sustainable Land-Based Businesses. To inaugurate our new focus, we’re proud to announce, “Building Community with Land Based Businesses”, the latest installment to our Member Guest event series.
